Every January, I notice something interesting.
Founders and fractionals — two groups who think their worlds are completely different — show up with almost the exact same struggles:
They feel stuck.
They feel stretched.
They feel unclear.
And they think the problem is them.
But here’s the pattern I’m seeing already in 2026:
Neither group is struggling because they lack skill.
They’re struggling because they lack clarity.
Clarity about:
what’s actually slowing them down
what problem they’re really trying to solve
where their business is leaking time, money, or momentum
what to say no to
and what deserves their attention next
Different titles. Same root cause.
So today I want to pull back the curtain and show you the real patterns emerging across the founders and fractionals I work with — because once you can see these patterns in yourself, everything gets easier.
Across Seed–Series B companies, three themes are already showing up this year:
1. You think you have a “people problem,” but it’s a process problem.
If your team is overwhelmed, unclear, or constantly firefighting — it’s not a talent issue.
It’s:
unclear ownership
broken handoffs
no operating rhythm
decisions that don’t have a home
Fix the system → the team stabilizes.
2. You’re still the system.
If everything requires your approval or input, it’s not a leadership issue — it’s an operational one.
You haven’t built the structure that allows you to step out.
3. Your revenue problem isn’t a sales problem.
It’s upstream:
unclear ICP
weak qualification
inconsistent handoffs
delivery constraints
expectations not aligned
You don’t fix revenue in the CRM.
You fix it in operations.
⭐️ For Fractionals: The Quiet Problems Slowing You Down
These usually show up silently but powerfully:
1. Your offer isn’t clear.
If you can’t describe what you do in one sentence, clients can’t buy it.
2. Your pricing doesn’t reflect the clients you want.
Underpricing is the fastest way to feel resentful or exhausted.
3. You don’t know where your next client is coming from.
Inconsistency creates anxiety — and anxiety creates hesitation.
4. You keep thinking you need to “work harder.”
But productivity won’t fix a clarity issue.
⭐️ The Pattern Under the Pattern
Founders and fractionals think their problems are different.
But they’re not.
👉 Both groups are trying to build on top of unresolved friction.
Until you name the real issue:
goals won’t stick
plans won’t land
momentum won’t hold
confidence won’t stabilize
Clarity isn’t a luxury.
It’s leverage.
⭐️ Before You Go: A 3-Minute Clarity Snapshot
A quick diagnostic to help you see where you actually need to focus next.
Set a timer for three minutes and answer these five questions:
1. Do I know the exact problem I’m solving right now?
If you have more than one priority, you don’t.
2. Can I explain my value in one sentence?
Founders → the outcome you’re driving
Fractionals → the problem you own
3. Do I know the next decision that would move things forward?
Not five. Just one.
4. Where am I the bottleneck?
This applies to both leaders and service providers.
5. What would feel lighter if I stopped doing it?
Your clarity often hides in what you're avoiding.
Where you hesitate is where your next focus needs to be.
And that’s your starting point for 2026.
⭐️ If you saw yourself in any of this… you’re in the right place.
All year, I’ll be sharing:
diagnostics
clarity tools
frameworks
founder + fractional patterns
operational insights
and the real questions that unlock progress
Because most people don’t need a better plan.
They need better clarity.
All the best,
